Korean Kalbi Marinade

Ingredients
Marinade
- 4 lbs flanken-cut beef short ribs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 4 Tbsp sesame oil
- 4 Tbsp sugar
- 1 apple, roughly chopped
- 1 pear, roughly chopped
- 1 onion, roughly chopped
- 4 scallions, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves
- 2 Tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, apple, pear, onion, scallions, garlic, and sesame seeds in a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Place flanken-cut short ribs in a large container or zip-top bag and pour marinade over the meat, ensuring all pieces are well coated.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight (8–24 hours) to allow flavors to fully penetrate the meat.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grill short ribs until caramelized and cooked through, about 3–5 minutes per side.
