  1. Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, apple, pear, onion, scallions, garlic, and sesame seeds in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Place flanken-cut short ribs in a large container or zip-top bag and pour marinade over the meat, ensuring all pieces are well coated.
  3. Cover and refrigerate overnight (8–24 hours) to allow flavors to fully penetrate the meat.
  4. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grill short ribs until caramelized and cooked through, about 3–5 minutes per side.
